The once vibrant city, devastated by the February 2011 earthquake sequence is slowly returning, albeit differently to its former glory. The construction of new facilities commercial, sporting, cultural and residential presents a changing face to this southern capital and whilst the people of this city will never forget the loss of friends and loved ones they realise what a wonderful place they live in and generally embrace the ‘New’ Christchurch. As the gateway to the Southern Alps, Christchurch is ideally situated on the East Coast in Canterbury and only a short drive away from an enormous range of experiences both photographically and adventurous.
